About Us

Hawaiibottomfish.info is a website jointly hosted and managed by the three agencies responsible for the monitoring and management of bottomfish resources in the main Hawaiian islands (MHI). Information on this website primarily focuses on the Deep-7 species, Onaga, Ehu, Opakapaka, Kalekale, Gindai, Lehi and Hapuupuu, within the bottomfish complex.

This website provides fishermen and the fishing industry, seafood markets and industry, restaurants, local and visiting consumers and other interested public access to helpful information related to the scientific research, daily monitoring and ongoing management of this important bottomfish fishery. The three agencies listed below work cooperatively to keep the public informed about the status and management of the MHI Deep-7 fishery.
